Robert and Cora Kime’s passion for life, family and fruit growing took root with the purchase of the original farm in 1957. Nestled in the rolling hills of Adams County, the rich dense soil was the perfect base for growing their fruit to sell at local farmers markets. A few years later, their fruit growing endeavors blossomed into the addition of apple cider and fruit butter production, marking the beginning of a new era as Kime’s Cider Mill. In the decade that followed, the cider mill flourished so greatly that Robert and Cora ended the farmers market’s sales and concentrated all their efforts to producing high quality fruit products.
From the beginning, Kime’s has been family owned and operated. Robert and Cora’s six children were all raised on the farm and were an integral part of its success from the start. In 1980, a new chapter began as sons Ricky and Randy formed a partnership and took over the business from their parents. Under their leadership they grew the product line and customer base by adding new products including apple sauce, apple juice, cherry juice, pumpkin butter, and pear butter (just to name a few).
The third generation is now part of our story as Randy’s son, Cody Kime, and son-in-law, Nathan Grimes, joined the corporation in 2023. Staying true to the roots that were established by our grandparents more than 60 years ago, we still use the same recipes and ingredients to provide our customers with authentic, locally sourced fruit products. From our family to yours, we thank you for choosing Kime’s, and we hope to remain a staple on your table for years to come.
